Anyone’s else’s little one having major problems with constipation?

She’ll have one good poop then won’t poop for over a week I have to feed her prunes all week tomorrow get her to poop and am nervous to give her a suppository. Also her poops are harder now not like a rick but definitely have form and this is the first time she’s strained you get it out.

Try cutting out dairy (if breast feeding cut out if YOUR diet).  My niece is dairy sensitive and pooped only once (maybe twice) a week.  Big poops... hard poops... and strained, cried, screamed even just to get it out.
 
Now that she is on soy she is doing SOOOOO much better!!  Worth trying?  Also, no bananas.  
 
*i would ask pediatrician BEFORE changing anything major just to be safe.

That doesn’t sound like constipation. Constipation is where they’re straining and only little bits come out that are dry and really hard. The more solids they’re on the harder their poo will be and they will strain a little

my daughter has had pooping issues since about 3 months old. we tried every trick in the book. (I was breastfeeding at the time) 
cut dairy, caffeine, gluten. everything. nothing worked. then we did stuff like a warm bath and massages. pears, prunes, apple juice. everything.
eventually she hadn't pooped in 3 and a half weeks!!! 
and she would strain so hard and scream bloody murder. she was in so much pain. 
eventually her doctor advised me one Friday night when she had seriously not eaten all day, was screaming all day, not happy, wouldn't calm down for even a second, too give her a baby enema. just until Monday when she could see us. 
so that night we gave her that. and immediately she pooped. SOOOOOO MUCH. she seriously pooped for 15 mins straight. she was the happiest baby ever after that. 
her doctor said it was a one time thing. 
so that Monday we went and got her checked out, they assumed since she got that load out, she wouldn't have any more issues. 
well she did. she would strain and make her little booty bleed. 
her doctor said it was just her staying solids and to give her prune juice mixed with oatmeal every morning. 
and that since she was still breastfed that there was no way she could have been constipated. they said she just didn't want to go. (bullshit!!!) 
well she had some issues in-between then and now, multiple hospital visits/week long stays. so then when all of that fixed, she was still not pooping on her own! 
her doctor had ordered her miralax, which works great! but off of it she will not poop on her own. she can't. so at the end of November I plan on trying to get her in to see a GI specialist. something is going on. sorry for the long story!

My pediatrician gave me culturelle to mix with her food to help. Half a pack every day and then every other day until her stomach adjusts.

I've found warm pear juice works best. My son has had constipation on and off since he was born. Our pedi suggested pureed prunes but his constipation got so bad he was bleeding. We went back to pear juice and it immediately got better.
