Paternity leave - How much time did/is he taking off?

Is your SO taking time off, if able, after the baby is born? How long for first babies?

My husband gets 6 weeks off paid from his company but I would kill him if he was home for 6 entire weeks with me lol so he will stay home for the first week and then take time off as needed throughout the year

he's taking 2 weeks. which is good and bad. good to have him home. bad because that's his leave for the whole year...well paid leave.

my hubby is planning on taking at least 1 week off. Maybe a week and half depending on how things are going. I'm hoping he'll take more time off rather than less.

Thanks everyone. I want my husband to take off a month, and he wants to take off a week. I was curious what others did. I think we are going to meet in the middle and him take off 2.5-3 weeks. He said most men only take off a week or 2 and I told him if he only takes off a little bit that doesn't mean he is exempt from getting up in the middle of the night with me and no complaining. 😉

He has 9 days of PTO left so he is using that. (Not counting sick days he has those separate) but she is due in mid November.

My husband gets to take 6 weeks off due to CA's FMLA/Paternity Leave, but since its unpaid, he has to use his time banks so he'll plan for a month off and save the two weeks for later down the road if he needs some extra time off but doesn't have enough PTO.

My fiancé is taking 16 weeks paid paternity! Lucky! Mine will unpaid FMLA. Ugh.

My husband can take up to 20 weeks off but will most likely take 12 weeks because he's in sales and won't be making commission while on paternity leave (his paycheck is about 50% commission).
