Maternity clothes???

Hey ladies! So I'm currently 4 weeks and I'm at the point now where I'm wanting to buy maternity clothes for future use. Won't give my exact weight, height, etc, just need to know how big of a size I should go up if I'm expecting to wear clothes 7-8 months from now? How did you all go about it?

When you buy maternity clothes, they’re made to be the same “size” you were before but fit differently. I was a small and xs before, and that’s the size my maternity clothes are.

I'd wait for sure. I'm 18 weeks and don't even need maternity clothes yet.

I didn't start buying maternity clothes till about 25 weeks but even now at almost 33 weeks I don't wear them, I just went up a couple sizes.

I would just start shopping as needed. But I don't think you need to size up or down. You can always start off with maternity leggings though! Those are 🙌🏽 and perfect for the holidays when you stuff face at parties, you can definitely wear after pregnancy too.

I bought them around 15 weeks and wished I had done it sooner. Buy the size you are now, they'll grow with you. I was all bump and already on between a large/XL before pregnancy. Sizing up would put me in plus sizes that were baggy and frumpy looking because it was way too much material. Maternity jeans are amazing!

I started wearing maternity shorts (and some "fat pants" I had saved from when I lost weight in preparation for getting pregnant) at 9 weeks.   I could probably have gone with the belly band and my normal pants for a while, but since I had the others, why not feel comfy?  As for what size to buy, I bought shirts 1-2 sizes bigger than my normal size (not maternity) so they would be flowy and long enough to hide the belly panel of the maternity clothes and I ADORE them.   I don't quite have the cute baby bump yet (still in the "she ate too many chips over the summer" looking stage at 21 + 2) so I'm not comfortable wearing the ruched sided maternity shirts yet.

Noone can answer that question for you. Some only gain in belly. Some blow up all over the place. I am 30w and still an xs but i eat very healthy and exercise. The only parts of my body that grew are my stomach and breasts. My sister on the other hand became a giant ball and went from size s to xl. You will have to wait and see
