What's everyone's take on this situation?

If the man works and does a small amount of housework and then woman stays at home, cooks and does the rest of the housework which is like 80% or more and takes of the kids, how should the money be handled?

Age-old debate about money here lol. This is a more traditional setup but but I really mean like how should the money be handled according to who works, the man could be stay at home and the wife  could be working, etc. The point is to see how most feel about the authority position over money. Need some back up on this, so please comment with your opinion and why.

I think it should be whoever is more responsible with the finances,  regardless of who is working.  I'd say whichever parent is staying home probably has a better idea of what bills there are to pay,  what groceries are needed etc so probably has a better idea of what finances are needed where.

Equal. If the person staying home is taking care of the duties of the household then they're both working. When the spouse who works has the weekend off the homemaker should as well- so both should handle whatever comes up on the weekends- taking care of the kids, deep cleaning that needs to be done, dishes, whatever. That's how me and my spouse handle things, and it works out well; I brought it up and then we decided I'd stay home, because I have social anxiety, so it's easier for me to stay home, and we wanted to homeschool our children.

I dont think who does what in the house matters. Its up to the individual couples to decide how they work out their income and spendings. Every couple is different there is not a right way to do it what works for me may not work for the next couple.

My husband is a numbers guy, he knows all of our finances inside and out. We have an equal say, but he pays all the bills - and that's fine with me!
We have separate checking accounts and a joint checking account for me to use for groceries and the other incidentals that we've budgeted for. $ is automatically deposited into that account every 2 weeks, or it's added as needed.
In the same year we bought a home and had a big wedding. I'm thankful that he's so good with $, he's made our beautiful and adventurous life possible.

I don't get how it would be handled any other way.
