Allergic to eating healthy ðŸ˜
I'm currently TTC and very concerned with eating healthy during my (hopefully) upcoming pregnancy. I've been told many different things and I don't know what to believe or do really so I came here looking for advice and experience. I'm allergic to raw fruit, vegetables, and tree nuts and trying to eat healthy is hell for me. I have to thoroughly cook or freeze fruits/vegetables before I eat them. This of course is less than ideal in preserving nutritional values. I prefer healthier options. In the mean time, I stick to small quantities of fresh fruits and hope my allergies don't get worse, which they have twice unexpectedly... I also have an epi pen for certain fruits that cause more severe/life threatening reactions. I always fear I'll pass my allergies on when I become pregnant... I just wonder how some of you have dealt with allergies and what your drs told you.
So for those of you out there with food allergies, what are you allergic to and what did your doctors tell you to do about it during pregnancy? Did your ob/nutritionist/etc tell you that your baby has a chance of being allergic to what you're allergic to? Did you avoid those foods or eat them anyway (depending of course on the severity of the allergies)? I was told to eat in small quantities what I'm mildly allergic to so the baby doesn't develop that allergy. (I'm allergic to raw baby carrots so snack on maybe only 2 at a time so the baby isn't allergic to baby carrots and so I don't overdo it with too many and have a reaction... kind of like desensitization prior to the actual allergy for baby). I know this whole thing probably sounds crazy to some of you... The situation is. But I just want to do the right thing. Any info would be helpful.
