Would you be irritated?
My husband’s mother lives about 30-35 mins from us. She is constantly coming to visit when it’s ALWAYS around dinner time. Which leaves me to figure out what to make and cook for the three of us. She’s a picky eater, too. Sunday, the day before I had to go in to work two twelve hour shifts, I ended up cooking a turkey loin, biscuits, green beans and wild rice by myself...while he and his mom sat on the couch and talked and watched TV the entire time. I even set the table and everything while they did their thing. She keeps saying she’s going to invite us to dinner at her place on night, but it’s been like this for two years and she has yet to cook a meal at her place. Oh, wait...she DID cook a meal for my husband when she knew I was working. There have also been a few times we’ve bought her dinner. If I ate at someone’s house as much as she does and knew the person had to work the next day, I’d offer to bring a dish or at least ask if I could help. Am I wrong for being irritated by this?
