Varicocele? Surgery?

Question

Has anyone's DH had varicocele surgery that was successful in increasing speed count and resulted in successful pregnancy?  My husband's sperm count is only 2.4 million and is having the varicocele surgery next month. I'm nervous and am hoping it will increase.

My husband's surgery is on Monday. The stats are a bit controversial with numbers fluctuating to either side of you research the surgery, but we figured it was worth a shot

We have ours nov 3! We have around 14 mill. But 11 % motility and 0 morphology. His is a grade three left side only. Fertility urologist also put him on 25 mg clomid a day. I'm praying it helps us. All hormones are good just borderline low testosterone. We were told 70% of men see a improvement in semen. Pregnancy rates increase by 40%. With most conceptions occurring around 6-9 months post opp. Doc said most Semen parameters reach their max potential at 6 months . Been trying a year so far. Wishing you so much luck. This is a hard road

My husbands varicocele surgery was unsuccessful. We just found out yesterday, his numbers were exactly the same 😔

DH, here. Stumbled on this post and thought my experience might help others. I had 0% morphology on my first two semen analyses this past October. Concentration and motility were also on the very low end of normal. I had micro-surgery to remove the varicoceles in early November and my urologist simultaneously prescribed clomid to boost my numbers. Proud to say my wife got her BFP 1.5 weeks ago (late February). Also, I took another semen analysis at 4 months post varicocelectomy just to see how my numbers improved. Happy to say that they went up quite a bit. Morphology went up to 3%, while my concentration over doubled and motility went up significantly as well. I'm told my semen parameters should continue to improve beyond 6 months.

Good luck to you both! The research I have found is so iffy, back and forth and not very helpful. My husband was fine with motility and volume just low in the concentration. His urologist didn't recommend IUI and did not recommend chlomid either saying that it can sometimes have the opposite affect. This is our last hope and to being able to conceive naturally so I sure hope it works!! ❤️
