Help! Confused!

Started tracking my bbt right after my miscarriage a little over a month ago, so that I can learn to see when I ovulate. The week before my period decided to come my bbt was higher than it normally is. Does that mean that's when I was ovulating? Also, if i was can I still get pregnant if I had sex during that window and then got my period right after? Not sure how all of that works.
