glyburide- anyone else taking?

Diagnosed with GD a week ago. Post meals are wonderful with diet. Fasting are up and down - but no more than 6-7 points high. Doctor prescribed me 2.5 mg of Glyburide twice a day. Came home to read more about it - and now I'm nervous. Seemes to be a common prescription for GD but not really fully approved. Anyone else prescribed it? Taken it? Know people who have? Looking for any info !

I've been taking glyburide. Very small amount though. Just 1.25 at bedtime only. It was all I needed to get my fasting under control.

Guys try red raspberry leaf tea.. Im 37 weeks and i just started drinking it hoping it will help with the labor, as i ll be induced in just 10 days.. My fasting has always been on limit between 94-97 and my numbers during the day would be 117-125.. Today i woke up to 85 and my numbers during day were around 98-110!! Its incredible. I just googled it and yes many ppl say the same! Every pregnancy is different tho so please consult your dr/ midwife first..

Ps: i was put on glyburide too but i refused after trying it for few days and promised to work on my diet. Glyburide made me really sick and dizzy.

I refused to take it because I have read that it actually damages and ages the placenta and increases the risk of stillbirth, especially since your numbers are not regally that high. There's no need for the added risk.

Same here! So far I've declined meds... I can't believe a 4-5% bump for 4% of the day is really that damaging. The medication does not have an outcome of a smaller baby. There are no studies on pregnant women. I spoke to a world expert in diabetes (friend's dad) who said he wouldn't let his pregnant daughter take it....

I'm in the same boat! My doctors office called me and saidy doctor has decided to put me in glyburide. Earlier that day I talked to my nurse and she said I'm doing awesome and my numbers are great. Usually I just do what the doctors tell me but I'm a little on the fence this time.
