C.S.i. - Menstrual Cup?

My period has been so heavy - “Crime Scene” heavy! I’ve been using tampons & pads to back it up lately! I’ve tried the bigger type tampons but they seem to not be as absorbent from what I can see when it’s time to replace. I really hate wearing pads! -the feel, look, smell = paranoia. Maybe others don’t notice but I definitely get paranoid about it! I’ve tried the cup a few times now. Too soon to tell, but I am having trouble with removal. Is it just me that makes a bigger mess than anticipated when removing the cup? Any suggestions or tips on handling a heavy flow?
