Taking an 8 month old trick or treating?

I’m a ftm and I was wondering is it bad if I want to take my daughter trick or treating? She of course won’t be eating the candy me and her daddy will. 😁 but is that normal or is that completely terrible?

I didn't take him trick or treating at that age, but I did take him to a fun harvest festival which he seemed to enjoy much more anyways. It was far more kid friendly with games, a petting zoo, crafts and stuff for kids and babies. It was at our local church. Maybe look into something like that? Then I just bought a crap ton of clearance candy the day after Halloween for my husband and I to eat 😂

as long as you dress up, go for it. I've been using my kid for candy for years now.

I don't see the point of it. it's pretty much just for the parents when they're that young. why not look up any possible events on halloween for children that young or go on a hay ride or something?

my son is 15 months and we won't be going. I may not even get him dressed up. I don't see the point when they are that young and think it's silly. also I wouldn't give candy to anyone who showed up with just a baby. but that's just me

We're going with other family, but I think if there weren't other kids in our lives I would just be out and about with him in costume.

My son is 10 months old and I won't be doing it. He doesn't get candy and it's too hot for him to wear a costume, so I don't see the point.

Me and my boyfriend plan on taking our baby trick or treating he’s 2 months old rn. My best friend took her baby around the same Ashe and everyone gave them candy saying they deserved it for having a baby! All three of us will be dressed up.

I didn't take my son trick or treating until he was two. That was only because for one, he wouldn't be eating any candy, so why? I could go to the store and buy candy. Two, it was too cold and there would be too many people out that would be sick or getting the beginning signs of sickness and I didn't want my boy to get sick.
