Question for teacher Momma's

I'm a first grade teacher, I used to teach esol but moved back to the classroom this year and I HATE it. I was not happy in esol either, but I least didn't feel like I was drowning. It just never ends. I come home exhausted and see my LO for like an hour. I'm miserable. I ideally want to stay home but the insurance is so good. So my question is: would it be weird if I demoted myself to a teachers aide? This way I still get summers off, work with kids, but I have less responsibility. Weird or understandable?
