kicking the pacifier

lo lo

my daughter will be two on Sunday and I'm starting to try and get her to let her pacifier go. talk about stressful, I also have a five week old. I felt bad trying to take it earlier when so much change was happening in her life, I didn't want her to think it had anything to do with the new baby. she is a all day paci baby and it keeps her calm when upset. I've gotten to the point new where I'll only give it to her in the car and at nap and bedtime but man the daily meltdowns are draining. and the look on her little face when she says "I have paci?" breaks my heart (and she says it all day long) but I'm trying to stay strong. (I've even caught her with the babies that I leave clipped onto her in her mouth...it's pretty funny seeing a two year old stuck to a baby all day because she's that desperate for a paci) now if only my husband would jump on the band wagon. I take it from her as soon as she gets up, I put it on her dresser and tell her she's a big girl and doesn't need her paci during the day and she can have it back at naptime...he magically forgets every single time. I swear men just take the easy way out
