whats the best bible version to read? I read some where that the Niv version has removed alot. How do I know I'm reading the one God intended. I'm so lost. I've been reading the Niv version. im really confused  right now.

I read the Holman Christian Standard bible/version. It's the most accurate translation. But honestly the Word of the Lord is living and we should read what the Lord tells us to and be confident in it. The English is already a translation but just because it's translated doesn't make it less, merely different. Trust the Lord more than yourself. He is able to make even translations made by men perfect for His purpose just like He uses each of us. Don't let it stress you. As you read make it interactive with the Lord and let Him tell you about scripture and guide you. Blessings!

I find that it’s all up to the reader. You’re going to find there are lots of different versions. NIV I would say is easy to read compared to NKJV or KJV, I wouldn’t say there are parts “taken out” compared to any other version. Some religious denominations swear that all types of the Bible are cut apart versions of the original or that their specific version is the only one true version all others had parts taken out/put in. As someone who collects LOTS of different types of scripture, I would say try different versions until you find one you can read, understand, and prayerfully accept and acknowledge as God’s word to you. Take your time, think about it, read different versions and compare what you like/dislike about each. The Holy Spirit is the translator of scripture to your heart, not some old dude who translated Hebrew to French, then Shakespearian English then to some random modern day version.

No, I hate the NIV, the NKJV is by far the most true to the original and is easiest to understand. Go with NKJV, or KJV if you're up to a challenge

You need to research how they are translated or paraphrased.  For story choose a paraphrase.  For study choose a translation. Even then you need to look at word for word verses though for thought translation.  NIV is thought for thought meaning understanding is translated.  NRSV is word for word literal.  There’s a problem with both since there are parts of the Bible that require both styles.  Your best bet is to choose one basic translation and compare as you read.

NIV is pretty standard for lots of people. I do highly recommend the New Oxford Annotated Bible though. It’s amazing for studying! It gives lots of notes and expansions on historical contexts

My church uses the ESV (English Standard Version) which I like for their emphasis on word accuracy. NIV is great as well, and NLT (New Living Translation) can be helpful for really confusing sections. All of them contain all the same books Genesis through Revelation. It's often just vocabulary that changes slightly ("workmanship"vs "masterpiece"). I like the YouVersion Bible app because you can switch between translations to compare! Hope this helps. :)
