Traveling at 38 weeks...?

My cousin’s baby shower is November 4th. I’ll be about 38 weeks at that point. I’ll have to travel 2.5 hours to get there. This is her first baby after trying for a LONG time for this little one, and I really want to be there to support her. She was at my shower and everything and we are pretty close. I’m just worried that it’s cutting it too close... what do you ladies think?

Talk to your doc, mine doesn't want me traveling after 35 weeks in case we are on the road and halfway somewhere and need to go to the hospital.

Talk to your doc cause mine let me go to Orlando last week I was 37 weeks, but he said after that no traveling until after baby. I listened cause I don’t want to chance going into labor somewhere else and having a doctor I have no history with delivering my child.

We've had invites to various things a few hours away from home (friend and family birthdays) And now that I'm 37 week, I've put myself on a travelling ban and told people we can't go. It's partly because I live just outside of London and the main motorway we have to use to get to most places (M25) is notorious for accidents and traffic...people have been known to get stuck for 4,5,6+ hours. I don't fancy that happening and then going into labour 😂😂

My doc doesn’t want me to go to a housewarming party 2 hours away when I’m 37 weeks. I wouldn’t risk it.

Trust your ob/gyn and follow their advice. Find out if there will be Wi-Fi at the shower location and you can Skype in to still participate in her shower. It'll still be special and mean a lot to her. It's best to be safe.

Dont think you should, unless you want to give birth super far from home which you never know what can happen
