In love with an ex boyfriend

I realized I'm still in love with an ex boyfriend and we broke up almost 2 and a half years ago! He dated 2 other girls after me and I'm not sure if he's single now. We started texting again 2 months ago and I wasn't sure how to ask him if he's with someone or how to rekindle the romance. So far we've only been texting.

Those 2 girls he dated both still have photos with him on Facebook but so do I... so they might be old. I really don't know how to approach this situation. Any advice? What do I say without coming on too strong?
