Is a mother walking out on her child worse than a father walking out on his child?

So it seems to me that there’s more of a stigma surrounding mothers leaving their children than there is surrounding fathers leaving their children. Why is this? Do YOU personally feel that a mother walking out on her child is worse than a father leaving his child? Why or why not?

I think they are just as bad, but it’s become much more common for the the father to walk out so I think it’s more “normalized”.

I feel like the mom walking out is worse because like, that mom carried that baby for 9 months, She grew that baby, then delivered that baby, all for what? to abandon the baby? like I feel like there should be some sort of bond or attachment...

Naturally women are programmed to look after their offspring, and men are programmed to spread their seed, I'm not saying it's right for a father to walk away, but they're just not as emotionally connected. (Not all men before people start losing their shit)

That's what my SOs mom did. Left him, his brother, and his sister. Divorced their dad, moved to Nevada, and came back like 4 years later expecting things to be normal. didn't work out as she expected.

They are both the same in my opinion. It’s not totally uncommon. I grew up with a lot of kids who moms just left. Mostly because of drugs. I think it does the same amount of damage to them.

But I'm wondering if a mum walking out on their child would have a bigger affect? There's so much more of an expectation to have a present and good mother, than there is father. I'm wondering if there would be an added pressure or increased stigma for having a mother walk out on you.

I don't see a difference, and if they have any desire to leave they should fulfill their financial obligations and don't let the door hit them on their way out. 
   
I also don't fully fault people who leave as long as they are still fiscally responsible for their child.

I think it's just as bad, ..... but emotionally I think the mom walking out  is more messed  up, compared to let's say a man waking  out before the child is born. I can't see how you create this child for 9+ months and then you're  like my bad.... I changed my mind. Where as a man isn't as emotionally attached  prior  to birth.... But for the actual  child,  either parent is  equal.
