Did baby sleep in your room/bed?

Question

I've been getting a lot of crap for choosing to not want to cosleep with my baby when she gets here. I know the "pros and cons" of both. I just don't want her to prefer our bed or a bassinet vs her crib. Even though she'll be young and need me I think having her in the room next door with a monitor should be enough. What do you mommas think? Did any of you decide against cosleeping?

We had a cosleeper attached to our bed. It was God sent. With cluster feeding, I’d have been miserable if I’d have to get up and go to another room a bunch of times during the night. I didn’t even have to get out of bed to feed her. It was magical. She napped in her crib and had no problem transitioning to her own room at 9 months. Just my opinion, but I think co sleeping is great.

We tried to use the bassinet. Our plan was 6 months in the bassinet next to me. She slept like crap in that thing. We moved her to her crib at 4 weeks which is in the room next to ours and we had the video monitor. She slept trough the night and has been a fantastic sleeper ever since. 
I think we’re planning to do the exact same with baby #2.

I didn’t cosleep! I don’t regret it one bit. I liked having that area just for my husband and I. Baby slept in a bassinet right next to me though 😀
It’s all a personal choice! You shouldn’t be shamed for wanting to or not wanting to co-sleep. Those who shame others are a joke.

You do what’s best for you... my baby sleeps with me... we kicked my husband out the bed... she’s 12 weeks... I’ll probably start transitioning her to her room in about 4 weeks

I'm doing bassinet bedside for the first month or so, that way I can get her fed and changed quickly and still get sleep. But I let her nap in her crib during the day with the monitor...so far so good. Almost three weeks in

Baby room right next to us, monitor AND angelcare system. I could still hear everything. We did straight to crib and so did three of my friends. Now, I’m typically the mom that’s always like “CHOOSE THE SAFEST ROUTE!!!!!” I am a WORRY WART, but straight to crib worked best for us and we are choosing to do it with all of our children. I was even thinking of sleeping in there on the floor a couple of nights but I really didn’t need to. The reason we chose to do it that way was because I wasn’t going to get ANY sleep having my baby in the same room. It wasn’t practical and I was going to get sick. In the end if you can’t take care of yourself then you can’t take care of your baby. If you are falling apart, that’s not good for baby so straight to crib it is for our household. (To any other poster that has a difference of opinion or judgments, I don’t want to hear it. I’m only posting on this girl’s post because she asked to hear from moms who decided to do straight to crib.)

Plan for baby to sleep in a bassinet in our room for maybe a month then baby will sleep in nursery crib with monitor. 
I’m completely against co sleeping for my and my husband because we both are awful sleepers. We toss and turn like fish out of water.

We're not going to cosleep because we dont want the baby to get used to sleeping with us. We're using a bassinet next to my side of the bed for the first 3 months and then off to your crib sweetie!!

I live in a one bedroom for now, so the crib is in our room. I thought about having him close to the bed but I'm thinking I'll just use the crib, if I change my mind I have a pack n play with a baby sleeper attachment n put that close to the bed. 
I am really against baby sleeping in the same bed. my fiance had a neighbor who accidentally suffocated her newborn bc she would sleep with the baby in her bed. his mother once fell asleep with him n his brother in bed(he is a twin) and woke up in the middle of the night & they were both under the covers and it scared her to death. I really wouldnt chance sleeping with your baby in the same bed as you. 
I know some women do it and think they're careful about it but unfortunately it could happen to anyone no matter what precautions you take. & I would hate for anyone have to go through the loss of their child that could have easily been prevented.

We have a bassinet in our room and he was able to sleep in it for a few weeks, but now he’s almost 5 weeks and super fussy so in the bed he goes lol. I was soooo against co-sleeping, but right now it’s the only thing that soothes him at night, and mommy needs her sleep. Parenting is about survival, so do whatever works best for you and your family!
