Age gap

Who has children far apart in age, with the same partner, by choice?

Our daughter will be 6 in February and has been asking for a sibling.

Her father and I just went through a rough patch where we weren’t together. We are back together and better, but not ready for another child, even if we would want one.

He is on the fence and goes back and forth on wanting another. It used to physically pain me, knowing I may never have another child.

Our daughter has proven to be quite a handful and I’m not sure I could handle another child.

I’m just wondering the pros and cons of having children so far apart in age.
