Giving labor with acyrlics??

Question

Did anyone get there nails done before their due date? I'm debating to just take my acrylics off and get gel or to get a fill but make them short... if you experienced labor with acrylics let me know if you totally regretted it.

My hospital prefers you to have natural nails for labor in case they need to put you under for a csection. I would get a nice manicure but not get acrylics.  Honestly you aren’t going to want to risk scratching your baby or getting meconium under a nail anyway.

I got my toes and nails (acrylics) done for 2 out of my 3 labors. I did it because:
1. I needed some pampering.
2. I couldn’t reach my own toes 😁
3. My nails are so gross and fine that they peel. 
4. I wanted pictures with nice nails.
I am due in January and plan do get them done again.

Personally I wouldn’t want long nails like that with a baby. I however did go get my nails done with the gel.

If they need to monitor your oxygen level they sometimes put the monitor in your finger and acrylics will cause the monitor to not read properly
