I do not agree with the rioting but it's essential to understand the reason for it. A riot is the language of the unheard. It's damn time we start listening.

I agree with protesting. But rioting and putting your own town, friends and families in fear is not cool. 
An indictment has been handed down.
This is a Rodney King story over again.

It's a shame. All of these thugs rioting, just took the attention off of the peaceful protesters trying to get a point across. They destroyed their own city, and people's personal property. If the public is angry with authority, they shouldn't take their anger out on other members of the public, they should stand up and protest authority. Not riot and destroy their city, or harm the officers doing their job.

This is a situation where I admit there's a lot I don't understand and therefore I try to listen to those that do more and talk less. As a white woman I have not and will not experience racism and racial inequality. I have not experienced police brutality or the threat of police brutality, so I try to reserve my judgement and instead try to understand why these things are happening and what lead people to that point. Do I think riots are an inherently bad thing? I don't know, but what I do know is that I think police brutality and abuse of power are far worse. I wish that got as much condemnation, conversation, and calls for a "better way" as the riots do. I wish that, along with the peaceful protesters and people working together to clean up their city, got the same news coverage from the 24-hour news cycle as the riots did. 
Sorry if I'm kind of rambling. There's a lot here and again I'm just trying to learn about the why more than anything.

Protesting is great. Burning down innocent people's vehicles and buildings and acting like a bunch of wild animals is not. There is a way to go about things and rioting just isn't one of them.

Absolutely not. Protest, yes, riots, no. People protest to be heard, to show their concern and to get the subject it's deserving attention when it's lacking buy riots prove what negative impact you're capable to do. There's a huge difference. You'll not prove anything good, only proving that you're a trouble maker. I understand there's bad cops out there and they really should be ashamed for taking advantage of their labels because if they did their job like they're suppose to, this wouldn't of been motivated to act on. There are good cops too and it's not fair to threaten them for something they're not responsible for, just like the innocent bystanders who get hurt from all of this. If you want revenge, seek it from those who are responsible for, not tear your community apart who didn't have anything to do with what's been happening. It's very selfish and not well thought. People worked their asses off to have the jobs they had just for it to be burnt away in a single day. Instead of setting a good example for our youth and motivate them to go to school, school is closed and they clean up after the adult's mess. Veterans who sacrificed their lives to protect their families and the place they grew up in and made memories in has been tampered. This is the respect they get for all they've done. Think of your actions on how it'll affect tomorrow and everyone.
