Is it normal

So I was talking to a friend of mine and she mentioned her bf who she has been dating for 1 year. Saved up to take her on a vacation to the Bahamas. My bf and I have lived together for 2 years. Together for 7 yes. He's never taken me on a vacation and its not because of money. He has enough to buy a second house cash. Should it bother me that when I asked him, he said why should I pay for your vacation. I'm not a moocher. But I feel like it would be nice of him since I love travel. Even if it was for my like my bday or something. Thoughts?
