Should I wait?

I found out that my cousin is pregnant. She just announced it on Halloween. I haven’t talked to her or family about it yet since she announced on Facebook. My husband and I have been actively trying since August and now I feel like we should stop because I would feel bad about taking away the spotlight for her. This is her first and I already have one. I don’t want everyone to think I got pregnant just because she did and that I want to steal the spotlight. Because that is NOT what I want. I just want another baby. Sorry, I just needed to vent.

ABSOLUTELY don't wait! It's YOUR family. PLUS, if she already announced, she's well ahead of you and will give birth way before you. You'll be able to support and cheer her on either way, but probably better if you're also pregnant and excited.

Honestly, I personally wouldn’t stop trying. You aren’t purposefully doing it bc of her news. If y’all are truly ready to grow your family, then go for it. If you feel so inclined, maybe talk to her about it. Let her know how excited you are for her and that you guys have been tryin again too. But that it’s a secret! I would think she would be excited that someone would be preggo in the fam with her. 
Actually the same situation is going on in my fam. My cousin just found out she’s expecting her first and she knows we’re trying. She’s super excited for us to possibly be pregnant together. Hope this helps!

If she got engaged before you would you not have a wedding? You are all adults. She should be happy for you. Don't plan your life around someone else. Do what works for you and your family. Baby dust!

I don't see any reason to stop trying. Maybe just don't announce until the end of the first trimester. That will give her plenty of spotlight. Plus she'll deliver before you. No big deal.

Having a baby and growing your family isn't about any "spotlight." It's great your cousin is pregnant, I'm sure that's exciting for your family! But you possibly getting pregnant only adds to the excitement, it doesn't take anything away. My sisters just had their babies at the end of September, and the babies were born 2 days apart! Nobody was neglected, and everybody was equally excited for both babes. And during their pregnancies, my sisters wanted me to get pregnant too, so we could all be pregnant together, lol. I definitely do not think you and your husband should stop trying. I get that you're coming from a place of consideration, but the idea is silly. I'm sure your cousin would be totally happy for you if you got pregnant, and excited that your babies would be so close in age.

I wouldn’t stop trying. So what she got pregnant good for her. Doesn’t mean your not allowed to have another. And if they think that way then that’s on them.

If you get pregnant at the same time she will be so excited to share the experience and be pregnant together! You can shop for maternity clothes and baby gear together!

No one is going to think you got pregnant because she is as well and even if they do who cares. If this is what you want then continue trying.
