PLEASE HELP

Okay I have a problem. I started working for a cleaning company on Columbus Day(which was a Monday this year). Which is a federal holiday so the place was closed. I work from Monday to Friday(6:30-9:30) cleaning the Place. Anyways time forward. Labor Day was also a federal holiday but again I assumed I work since my employer didn’t let me know that I wasn’t suppose to. I didn’t think much of it. Comes pay day and it’s a day short and I ask and my employer tell me that he doesn’t count Labor Day. And I told him that I still went to work. His excuse was “well you should of asked and not assumed you worked” I demanded that he would pay, and he said he would only pay 4 hours out of 6. I agreed. Of course I told him that it’s his responsibility that his employees are informed of when to work. He laughed worriedly and blamed me. Anyways. I quit and I’m ready to get my last check and the check didn’t include the 4 hours he said the company would pay. He told me that the company said it was my fault and they didn’t want to pay. What should I do????
