Exhausted and cranky
My 3 week old was admitted to the hospital yesterday for pyloric stenosis and hasn’t been able to eat for 13 hours (plus violently vomiting for the last 2 days after each bottle). He is so fussy because he’s hungry and uncomfortable. The only way I can get him to sleep is on my chest, but the nurses won’t let me sleep holding him. I get that it’s got safety reasons but he screams when he’s awake and he needs rest before surgery... plus we’re in a shared room so screaming all night isn’t really ideal. He’s usually swaddled at home so he’ll sleep but he’s got an iv in his foot so that’s out of the question (until my husband brings a swaddle sack from home and we cut the bottom out tomorrow). I need sleep but he needs it more... so I’m trying to make it through the night on hallmark Christmas movies and caffeine.
