Newborn Must Haves & Regrets

Leeann

Here are my must haves and regrets. Feel free to share your lists in the comments:

👍🏻 Must Haves:

- Boppy nursing pillow.

I use this all the time not just for nursing my LO but also to prop him up and have him lay on my lap while I have hands free to be on the laptop or whatnot. I have tried the My Breastfriend pillow too but found it was too bulky and not pliable enough (too stiff and flat).

- Amazon Elements wipes in unscented.

They’re not too wet and not too dry, good size, a little bit of texture, pure ingredients as well as the ability to see where exactly the ingredients came from, good price and just as good as any name brand wipe. Packaging is great too.

- Bamboo changing pad liners.

Great to lay down on the changing pad or wherever in case of an accident during a diaper change.

- Coconut Oil.

I add a little tea tree and lavender essential oils and use it as a diaper rash balm as well as a moisturizer for LO’s dry spots.

- All Free & Clear Detergent

Cheap and just as good as specialty “baby” detergents, if not better. We’ve started washing everything in our house with it.

- Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat.

Easy to snap in and out of the car. Also have the Viaro stroller to go with it.

- JJ Cole car seat cover.

Goes right over the car seat to keep baby warm and covered up and away from nosy strangers.

- LED rechargeable light.

Got this on Amazon and works great for bedside diaper changes and feedings in the middle of the night.

- Dockatot.

LO loves this and I believe it is worth the money.

- Arms Reach mini cosleeper

I put this next to my bed and have baby sleep in his dockatot in this cosleeper.

- Gowns

The ones with the hand covers and open end for legs make middle of the night diaper changes easy.

- Halo Sleepsack

LO sleeps in his gown and this at night. Also easy for diaper changing.

👎🏻 Regrets:

- SwaddleMe velcro swaddles

My baby hates having his arms strapped down so he never liked these.

- Pampers Swaddlers diapers

They’re too big and wide for my baby that has long skinny legs. Huggies worked better for him before we switch to cloth.

- Water Wipes

I wanted to love these after rave reviews but i hated them. They’re way too sopping wet and have no texture to the wipe which causes the mess to get all over the place instead of cleaned off baby’s bottom. The packaging is horrible and won’t stay closed as well as you end up pulling multiple wipes out at once. They’re also overpriced compared to other brands.

- Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Balm

Way too thick and greasy. I prefer the Bamboobies nipple balm over this.

- Mitten hand covers

Never ended up using these, I just made sure to keep baby’s nails trimmed. They would fall off all the time and just be more of a pain than anything.
