12 week appointment- what to expect

I have my 12 week ultrasound and genetic testing appointment tomorrow. Can anyone tell me what to expect? I was told the ultrasound itself is 30-40 mins. Why is it such a ling ultrasound? Im excited to see the baby now that it's more than just a blob on the screen 😊
