Hernia? With pain?

I'll be 12 weeks Wednesday. I noticed that o had a hernia very early in the pregnancy. When I mentioned it to my doctor he wasn't to concerned and said they normally won't cause any problems and are no harm to the baby but to just keep an eye on it. Well, I have a 2 year old daughter who's 32 pounds. The doctor said it's fine for me to lift her as my body is used to it. Either way I've still been trying to go easy on picking her up/carrying her. But, sometimes I have to especially if my husband isn't home. Yesterday I noticed that my stomach was hurting all around the hernia. It was a weird pain (I haven't felt it before). I tried to take it easy the rest of the day and just relax but it still was hurting. Not severe, but still bad enough to make me just want to lay in bed. I'm just wondering if any of you ladies also have a hernia? What symptoms do you have? Does it cause pain or anything? If need be I'll call the doctor this morning, but. I wanted others thoughts on it as well! I had a hernia with my first pregnancy too (my 2yr old) but I never noticed any pain or discomfort.
