How young is too young to get married?

I am currently in a haram relationship and I don't know what to do! I want a halal relationship, but I'm only 18 (19 in 5 months) and the only way for the relationship to be completely halal is if we get married!!! The thought of breaking up is too hard for both of us! I will be reverting to Islam soon, I haven't spoken about this with my bf yet, I dont know if I should 😢 someone help!!!

Honestly girl in Islam if I’m not mistaken we are allowed to court but you’d need to have a chaperone (mahram) , at all times type of deal. Look that up tho because I could be wrong. I️ know that when my husband and I️ were planning on getting married and “dating” so to speak we were allowed to spend time with each other with others around. But at the same time we’re trusted enough to be alone in the living room to really talk and get down to the core of each others soul.

I don’t personally think there’s a right or wrong age to get married. I think it’s more to do with your stage in life and maturity level. I’m also a revert to Islam - I was introduced to the religion when I met my now husband at the age of 20. I knew instantly he was the one for me. It took around 10 months after meeting to realise I wanted to become Muslim and we were also in a haram relationship for that time (just being completely honest here). As soon as I made that personal decision (a decision I made completely with my own heart, not because of my husband, as you’ve said), we had our nikah very quickly, but we had already committed to each other and considered ourselves married long before that. My parents thought I was crazy moving so fast but it felt right to us so I didn’t care. So yeh, as I said, I think it’s your own personal life stage rather than age.

I am also in a relationship like yours however I am much older. We've been together over a year and half but I am Christian and he's Muslim. Please only convert if you really want to do it for yourself, no one else! Many people find themselves in this situation and your partner is clearly happy with it at the moment. Talk to him and see what his hopes are for the future, conversation is the most important thing you can do. Be open about your feelings and listen to him. Good luck xx

Take it one step at a time. Consider everything, for example, if you weren’t with him would you still take Islam?
You are young. Don’t throw yourself into the deep end with anything. Just ask Allah Ta’ala for help and guidance and everything will work out naturally. There’s no use in overthinking and stressing. You just have to trust in Him. It’s honestly that easy. If you ask Him to carry you, He will.
It might also be worth having a casual, open and honest conversation about how you are feeling with your bf. You don’t need to make any decisions but it will help you both if you’re on the same page.
