Getting sleep with a newborn that spits up?

So I'm a FTM, SUPER paranoid. Probably have only slept 10 hrs in over 2 weeks it feels like. My baby spits up a ton (pediatrician says it's nothing to do with my diet (I'm already gluten and dairy free) and that it's just what happens sometimes. But how do you mama's sleep? I'm so paranoid of my baby girl choking or something (it normally comes out her nose and mouth.. and I have to use that blue squeeze thingy to clear the spit up) I've tried burping and holding her upright for a little bit but it's not always Right after a feeding

Ugh, I’m so sorry mama. My little girl was this bad when she was that age too. I use to sleep it ring upright with a hoppy around my waist while holding her. ANYTIME she was flat she would spit up. As she got older I slept with her by my side with her head and upper body propped up with a pillow.  I tucked her in like a little burrito with walls around her to make sure she was always flat on her back. It was such a scary time for me too. The only thing that made it better was time. The older she got, the less she spit up. By 6 months she didn’t spit up anymore.

My son spit up tons too!! I was also super paranoid about him choking. I always put him to sleep on his back. One day I just had to get a shower and left him sleeping in his bassinet. He spit up a massive amount everywhere, he was covered. That was a break through for me. He was only like 2 weeks old, but he was able to handle it fine. I was less paranoid after that.

They sell wedges that go in the crib under the sheet to prop them up a bit, we use it when baby had a cold and was congested

Use a rock and play or roll her on her side a bit - either is fine and you’ll have some peace of mind.

Sounds like reflux, with my 1st he was preemie & had reflux very bad even in his sleep it would come out his nose and mouth at same time he had to be put on meds. As previous comment try to prop your baby up after feedings and while sleeping. Can't remember when we actually started meds for my son he eventually grew out of it but discuss it with Ped at next Appt.

prop the baby up I'd a swing carseat or just in bed raise on side of the mattress. mine did that as well I tried keeping him on his side buy bed always somehow managed to roll over into his back, it will help the worries it will just drain out of his mouth while proped up just make sure you keep something thick under him cause it gets messy. they told me he had acid reflux and eventually the meds wore off and I put him on infilmil a.r. and it worked in till he stopped drinking it the. I gave him milk and 1 year later after he got super sick we found out he is lactose in tolerant.
