Nanny or Daycare?

Due in March and trying to figure out what to do when I go back to work

Nanny is ideal especially for newborns, but it's expensive. Where I live, they're $12-15 an hour, vs daycare which is $1,200 a month. Another option is finding a lady who watches 3 or 4 babies at her house, my friend does that and it's $40 a day. Or, a stay at home mom who will nanny for you for less while she cares for her own baby.

I've worked in daycares and I've been a Nanny for 2 different families. If you can do nanny I would go for that. Do a background check and call references but your baby will get one on one attention. Daycares usually have high turn over rates and it'll be hard for your baby to form a bond with a caregiver. That's just my 2 cents from my experience.

Our nanny would come to our house aka we wouldn't have to wake up and pack our three month old in a carseat and warm up the car in winter to take them to daycare. He slept in his own bed and was in his own quiet environment. Nanny hands down for me.

I’ve worked in a daycare and I’m currently a nanny. I will quit my job soon since my first baby is due in March and I’ll be a stay at home mom. But, if you can afford a nanny I’d definitely go that route! I enjoy being a nanny for two little girls. The parents enjoy that they get one on one time with the same person and I still teach them, considering the one little girl is almost 4, I taught her preschool level material. You can go on a cite like care.com and make an account and find a nanny that way. Hope this made sense, I tend to ramble lol

For us it was money.  Nanny is 2k per month and daycare is 1200
