I am clueless about the financial part of leave and am trying so hard to find out my options and wanted to know how anyone has survived financially while on leave?

I found out that through my job they follow the FMLA, but it’s unpaid for me, except they use up all of my PTO (which isn’t much). I’ve tried to find out if I can get outside short term disability, but it seems like they only offer it through the employer. My husband also doesn’t get any PTO through his company, so the only way we can possibly survive at this point is if he gets a second job and works overtime at his job, so he won’t even get to stay home to help me or spend time with his daughter.

Does anyone have any tips on how to be able to pay my rent and not stress about it while I’m supposed to focus on taking care of my newborn?
