Can progesterone affect your fetus?

Hi I was put on progesterone and I am very skeptical about taking it, the last time I took it my baby died due to an abnormality can't help thinking that it was because i was taking this. 
I am taking half the dose for now. If anyone has any natural ways to increase it that would be great.

Progesterone for sure isn’t going to do anything to harm your baby. If your baby passed away due to an abnormality it was more jab likely a chromosomal abnormality. You can even think of it in the aspect of all pregnant women produce progesterone even if it isn’t a sufficient amount, you’re still producing it. In normal pregnancy’s where a mother doesn’t need a supplement of progesterone she’s producing enough to maintain the fetus and the baby is born without anything wrong with it. I was put on a progesterone supplement this pregnancy and took it up until 2 weeks ago and I’m currently 18 weeks. I had genetic testing done and nothing came back abnormally. I’m sorry about your loss but like I said chances are it was a chromosal issue, definitely not a progesterone issue.
