IUI/sperm donor?

My husband and I are beginning to talk about IUI as our next option since his sperm count is so low.

He is currently taking clomid, which has increased his count from 0 to low, and had another analysis on 12/12. I just don’t think it will be high enough yet.

He states he wants us to go to a sperm bank instead of IVF, if his count remains low. I’ve talked to him about how he would feel and together as a couple how we would feel knowing that the sperm isn’t his.

He is 100% okay with this. He states in our circumstances, there isn’t many options, and this wouldn’t make him any less of the child’s father. 💕

My husband’s dad is black and his mom is mixed. There aren’t but 1 donor who is mixed, & we aren’t happy with the characteristics. My husband is okay with using a white donor. !?

I was shocked. I am okay as well, I just don’t want him to feel any less of a father or feel disconnected d/t the situation.

Anybody else ever been in a similar predicament ?
