Just home from NICU on Saturday, on constant alert?

Our daughter, born on 9/29 at 32w3d, just came home from the NICU on Saturday. Besides being premature, she was otherwise healthy and really only stayed past 36 weeks corrected due to Bradys. By time she was released, she hadn't had a brady for a week. All of that being said, my husband and I have been on alert since her homecoming, and it is beginning to wear on me. Any tips for how to deal with the fear that if I take my eyes off her something may happen?

My 1st son was born 33w3D. He spent 28 days in the NICU. I felt the same way. We ended up getting an Owlet. It was great. Alarms went off if his heart rate or oxygen levels dropped. I finally was able to sleep. I plan on using it on my next baby even if he is born full term.

I know I’m about to feel the exact same way as you when my boys get to come home and I was planning on getting what they’re talking about in the other comment, they’re pricey but I feel like the peace of mind will be totally worth it

I felt the same way when my 32 weeker came home. As you see your baby gain weight and take it one hour at a time, you will see that your baby gets stronger and that you are able to take care of this tiny being. For me, I was relieved to be away from the monitors as I found them triggering. I mainly spent all my time in the same room as the baby and that helped me feel calm.
