Is it wrong to expect something for Mother's Day?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years and we live together. We both have young children from previous marriages. I helped him in thinking of the perfect gift to get his ex for the kids and I'm going to get it today for him. Just to be helpful. Is it wrong of me to expect him to acknowledge I'm a mother and get me a card or flowers. Or to even just ask what I would like to do for the day? (Being we will just have my son). Is it wrong that I just want some kind of acknowledgment that I am a mother too?

No of course it isn't wrong to expect that! My parents split when me and my sister were younger & until we were of an age that we could go and buy our mother something ourselves my dad still got us something to give to her for Mother's Day. Mine and my partners baby is due in July and I expected something this year and I expect him to do the work for our little man until he can do it himself! Which i don't think is wrong at all. Our little one isn't here yet but on Mother's Day i recieved a few cards & flowers from a few members of family signing there cards from the little one or bump!! You're child is already here in this world with you so I think it's only right your partner does that 😊🌻

I think it's up to your kid to get you something. If they are too young then he can help them make a card or something. I really think people expect way too much on Mother's Day.
