Would you date a Smoker?

Hello girlies, I have been dating a smoker for a while now. I personally hate smoke but I do love my So very much. I have learned to pass by my opinion on smoke and accept my So for them. I 'm curious on your girls  opinions and what you would do if your So developed/has this habit.

I cannot stand smoking (of any kind). The smell is really repulsive to me. And you cant really escape it either since, at least in my experience, smokers tend to smell of smoke most of the time. My grandfather smoked and it made it hard for me to be around him actually because I’d start feeling sick and coughing. Thankfully, my grandfather was very understanding especially since he was the biggest pusher of no smoking (he made all the grandkids promise to never even try a cigarette, etc). So no I wouldn’t be able to date a smoker mostly because they’d often smell of smoke and it’d make me sick (I’ve had experience with my hubs and smoking back when we were University students and he stopped his very occasional smoke with his friends while out drinking habit because he’d have to shower and brush his teeth before coming near me again). And the one time I kissed my husband after he’d smoked I got violently ill actually due to him tasting so gross. Cigarettes are one thing I just can’t be around.

My biggest deal breaker is smoking. I hate the taste, smell,  what it does to your health, just everything about it. The guy I've been dating for about 4 months is a smoker though and I'm having a pretty hard time with it. I love kissing him but occasionally he'll taste like cigarettes and it repulses me. He's trying to quit, cut down ALOT but I feel like it's just not enough. He knows how I feel about it and feels bad he's still smoking but it's a terrible addiction. I just don't know what to do anymore.

Lung cancer survivor here. I never smoked, just had bad luck. But now I can’t be around cigarette smoke, and I shouldn’t be in close contact with third-hand smoke (hanging out with heavy smokers, spending time in the car/house of someone who smokes), doctor’s orders. So, it’s medically inadvisable for me to date a smoker, hence the vote for ‘no’

My husband smokes, we both did when we met. I quit a long time ago and he's yet to. Number 1 bc he's in the army and it's hard to quit when you're surrounded by smokers and number 2. He really just likes to smoke. I still very seldomly enjoy a morning cigarette with my coffee or at night with a glass of wine bc those were my favorite times to smoke. He's cut down to half of what he used to smoke, and is working on cutting down more until he quits completely. I'm hoping within a year.

I think the best way to put it is this. If u like smoking and/or are okay with it then I think you’re okay with dating a smoker.
I have never been okay with smoking. Some of my friends do it which is completely fine because it’s their choice but personally for me it’s just not my thing. I hate the smell and I’ve tried it once and never again xxx
Do whatever works best for you but personally for me, I just wouldn’t date one ❤️

I think smoking is disgusting - weed, pipes, cigars, cigarettes - all repulsive. my guy smokes the occasional cigar, but not around me. I could never date a smoker. The smell from their clothes and breath...ughhhhh. 🤤🤢

If he develops it while we’re dating I’d be pissed, but if it was from before I’d be okay as long as he didn’t do it around me/ in my car or house.

my SO smoke as well and I can't stand the smell of it. But he said that he would try to stop because we also have children so he's trying to stop and that's all I asked for.

My boyfriend and I both vape and enjoy the occasional cigarette. So it never bothers me.
