Ectopic? Hcg doubling

I’m going through a hurtful and emotional situation and I need someone to share their story with me.. I’m about 4 weeks pregnant with an hcg at 5,300 and in 3 ultrasounds nothing has been found. I have no bleeding or pain except for minor aches here and there .. they wanted me to take the methotrexate shot and I refused, I decided to wait 2 more days . I know some people say I’m crazy but I just need to be sure. The doctors said that even if I was early they should see something with that beta. I’m lost, completely confused . And to top it off just realized I have a swollen nipple which I don’t know if it’s related! Anyone had anything similar happen?

I have had two ectopics. the first one my levels were not doubling. they never saw that one and I took methotrexate. the second one they saw it in my tube and I took methotrexate again. I'm lucky that I got to keep my tubes.

I’m sorry that you are going through this. I just had surgery for ectopic on Saturday. It’s the hardest thing I have ever done/gone through. I have been having very light red, then pink, then brown spotting since November 9th. I had my hcg levels checked and they were considered high at about 16,000. My midwife sent me to the emergency room where they did a transvaginal ultrasound and found my baby in the upper portion of my left Fallopian tube. I was 5 weeks 5 days pregnant. Part of me wishes I would have taken the time to get a second opinion but at the time it all just went too fast. If you can wait, I think it is best for you to really look at your options. Try to take the time to understand what is happening because the doctors can be wrong. There is nothing wrong with taking time to look closer, just understand the risks that may also pose. I guess in a way I am lucky because the damage to my Fallopian tube wasn’t so bad. They were able to fix it up I guess. I have another appointment with my doctor today to see how I’m doing. As far as I was told, I know doctors say they should be able to see something but if you’re definitely 4 weeks, it will be too early to see anything even with those numbers. HCG is different in every woman and different in every pregnancy. Did they check your tubes for an ectopic?

I had an ovarian ectopic in July. And had to take mtx. But I waited till 6 weeks before I took the shot. Also my hcg wasn’t doubling. Go back and check your hcg in 2 days it’s should double. Fingers crossed for you!
On a bright side. I’m am now 11 weeks and baby is in the right place . I really hope everything turns out great for you.

I visited with my doctor today and he told me if I got pregnant again he would closely monitor me and I heard him clearly say he might not be able to see anything until after 5 weeks. Maybe it is too early, when I had my ectopic my doctor had me return every couple of days until he clearly verified it was ectopic.
