who was in the delivery room ??

my daughter will be here in February and my mom in law wants to be in the delivery room but i didnt even want MY mom to be in the room.. I just wanna relax and spend time with her alone and with my husband. i dont wanna be rude but we arent really even that close.. i dont know what to do now lol

When it comes time if you don't have the guts just tell the nurses to ask her to leave, have them say it's policy or something.

Yah this is a fight to pick. Say no, mean it. And tell the nursing staff no outside visitors. Birth is the most naked and exposed you will probably ever be. The nurses will be your linebackers and your knights in shining stethoscopes.

with my first two, my mom was in the room with me, as a single mom with the first one, and then with my (now ex) husband along with my stepdad and lil bro with my second (they were all standing by my head so they didnt see the nitty gritty).  with this one, i only want my husband and i didnt know how i was gonna tell her.  i was afraid she was gonna get so butt hurt.   one day, she and i were discussing my niece going into labor and how she only wanted her boyfriend in there with her, and i jumped on the chance to throw in that i only want my now husband and me in the  room.  turns out she totally understands and wasnt hurt by it at all.   of course, she would gladly go in if i ok'd it, but she understands why i dont want anyone else.   just talk to her.  she may be more understanding than you think.

My MIL said she wanted to be there with our first, but we hardly knew each other than. I had my husband and my sisters. This time will just be him and me. I don't think we're even going to tell anyone baby is being born until she is here, except for who has to watch our son. So that we get time before people come without asking. My family likes to just say "I'm coming now" instead of asking lol

I have a similar situation. My MIL wants to be in the room but I don't even want my mom in there. I knew from the beginning I want to share that with my husband & him only. I just politely told her that we want to experience this together & that she can visit once we're ready. Good luck, I know it can be awkward

No means no. You need to be with your husband and baby. Everyone seems to forget how a baby comes into this world. Mom needs some support. She needs to birth her way that she feels comfortable and needs time to rest and recover. I’ve only ever had just my husband with me except for my last baby. My 1 year old was with us and she was just so awesome!!
