Political disagreement with mil

My mother in law is very very republican. She is huge into politics and does nothing but talk about them and try to convince my husband and I to follow her views. Every time the news is on, she is trying to shove trump down our throats.

Now as for my husband and I. He is very unbothered by politics. He doesn’t really care either way and doesn’t have an opinion on most things. I swing towards the liberal side of things (my mil doesn’t know this)

Well every time something about the liberal way of thinking comes up or I share a liberal thought, she flies off the handle and tries to have a fucking debate in my living room. I can’t stand it anymore. How do I handle this? She is so disrespectful it’s not even funny. Her views on the lgbt community make me want to vomit she’s so cruel. I don’t want her teaching my son that it’s okay to dislike people based on their sexual orientation!
