HUGE PROBLEM ginormous problem

Ayla • You read the rude comment I left, you’re here. What now?

My husband and I were TTC for almost two years before we became pregnant. We are both thrilled.

I am considered HIGH RISK. I was born with two heart defects, both corrected and nongenetic, but still high risk none the less. My high risk OB and cardiology team are 200+ miles away in Seattle. No local doctor will touch my case, which is fine, they’re not qualified.

HERE IS THE PROBLEM:

My husband is finishing up his MS in comp sci at WSU and last week my OB told me I’d pretty much have to move to Seattle between 32-34 weeks so he could monitor my heart and my babies response to it. This was a shock.

The problem is, during 32-38 weeks is my husband’s dead week, finals and graduation!!!

I’ll be alone in a hospital sponsored hotel by myself for a MONTH!! If I needed an emergency C section I’d have to do it alone and he’d miss the birth of his first and ONLY child. And I’d miss is graduation 🎓

My husband is an only child and both his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles ARE ALL DEAD. I and this baby are his ONLY family.

What do I do?? This is a nightmare.
