True meaning of Christmas

If you were a poor family and you couldn't afford christmas presents for your children would you reach out for help through a facebook group or teach your children the true meaning of Christmas? In my opinion they both can have a positive effect on your children and there are always people in search to help a family in need. I'm just curious. If it were me, I would take the opportunity to teach my children that Christmas is not about presents. I grew up never going without so I never had to experience being let down on Christmas morning. But one thing that I look back on a realize is that. the biggest thing about Christmas I remember and look back on is spending time with my family. Not what I got that Christmas. I see kids crying because they didn't get what they want. All I can do is sit back and wonder what it would be like if they had no gidts at all. Amyways, what would you do if you had no money for presents? Reach out for help through charities, ask on fb etc. Or Would you let your children go without because after all; that is not what Christmas is about. I've highly considered having a year where my family doesn't. do presents but we go feed the homeless or donate to a children's charity.
