Successful VBAC / Induction
I was scheduled for my induction on 11/28 @1:00pm so I made my way to the hospital with all my packed bags. When I got there, they had me sign some paperwork & then I got admitted into a room where they started an IV and drew some blood. At 2:30pm, they checked how dilated I was & I was only at 1 1/2 cm & at a -4 station so they decided to insert a foley bulb to get labor going.. @4:50pm they started pitocin so that my contractions would come a little stronger & a couple hours later, my contractions were coming every 2-3 minutes lasting 1 minute and man, did they hurt.. back labor ain’t no joke! 9:25pm rolls around & I decided to get the epidural at 4 1/2cm. About an hour & 20 minutes after the epidural, I felt a big gush. My water had finally broken! My fiancé & I thought that we’d get some rest before I’d have to push so we were getting ready to go to sleep. My nurse came in to check on me before we got some rest and what do you know.. I’m
10cm & she says you’re gonna meet your baby soon. I was so shocked because I went from 4 1/2 cm to 10cm in 4 hours! I pushed for 15 minutes & my handsome little boy made his way into the world @ 1:14am! For anyone trying for a VBAC, I highly recommend it. It’s one of the most rewarding feelings ever💙
