Cervix checks?

FTM here! I go in Friday for my 36 week check up and my doctor will start doing cervix checks. I am a big wimp and I’m just wondering if this hurts 😂 I know I know it’s nothing compared to labor but just wondering!

I am worried about this too, as I have a friable cervix and I bleed any time it’s even mildly touched. Earlier in the pregnancy I’d bleed if I pushed too hard to poop. 😐 So for me I might say no? I feel like I won’t be able to monitor myself properly if I am spotting after this is done.

I actually only had it done once at 37 weeks and then not again until I was in labor. They aren’t necessary but I actually didn’t think it hurt too bad. It was very uncomfortable and awkward but it wasn’t really painful at all.

Yes they’re uncomfortable and can cause cramping for a day or 2 afterwards
