So yesterday I was listening to the radio, and I know women have always been sexualized and objectified. I know we have always been looked at like a being there to please men’s sexual needs. Even though we all know we are so much more than that. Anyways, to the story. I was listening to the radio and the radio show host said after the song they were going to talk about a woman “that started in Nickelodeon but is totally bangable now”! I was so shocked when he said that. Nothing about her talent in singing or acting. Nothing about her strengths. Just what she did as a CHILD acted and that she started in Nickelodeon and is now bangable. That really threw me for a loop because they weren’t talking about her for any other reason besides that she was grown up now and bangable. It just amazes me how normal it is these days to disregard we are sentient human beings and sexualize us like it’s just so normal. I know that is nothing out of the ordinary to talk about women like that these days, it just got me thinking like wow it’s that easy for you to say something like that about a respectable woman, on air!!
