Any Nurses with MS?

Question

Anyone with Multiple sclerosis? I'm 21 and just graduated LVN school and will start RN school in May. Just seems like I have no one near my age living with MS like I am. I was diagnosed my senior year of highschool and determined to make a life for myself and not let this MonSter get in the way of it. i'd just like to hear some people's stories and get some insight on how nurses with MS get along through the rough days.

I was diagnosed at 22. I had just working at a nursing home as an Activity Director and Marketing, it was the worst thing. But I'm now 28 and have been working full-time for a bank the past year, medical was not where I needed to be!! My husband and I have recently decided we want to start family, so now we've started this wonderful journey! Never stop believing you can do anything you want because of this disease, that's when it starts winning.

I am not a nurse but I was diagnosed with MS 4 years ago.  I was a hairstylist and makeup artist when my diagnosis happened and like you, I refuse to let this MonSter rule my life.  I couldn't work as a hairstylist or makeup artist anymore I went back to college, got a my BA in psychology and am now in graduate school working on my master or social work.  Better late than never I guess 🤷

I am not a nurse, but I probably have MS. I haven't been diagnosed yet but everything seems to be pointing in that direction. I am a math and science teacher/tutor, and was the director of a math tutoring center until April, when I had to quit my job because of a bad relapse. Since then I have slowly gotten back into private tutoring and may be partnering with a small school to tutor after school, but will not be doing something as demanding as I was before. I think exhaustion and stress exacerbated my symptoms. I am 25, so I frequently get comments of, "You are too young for this!" or, "You couldn't possibly have MS (OR another chronic illness)!" 
I am impressed you are able to be a nurse, I think that must take a lot of courage to commit to be on your feet for lobg periods of time in such a challenging job! Thank you! I admire my  nurse friends for all they do.
My advice: Learn your limits. Learn what triggers and exacerbates symptoms if you can. (but I know MS can read its ugly head with no warning, and it is frustrating.)
Get the sleep you need. It is vital to give your body time to recharge. Give yourself grace when you don't accomplish as much as you hoped. You are a fighter, and you are doing an AMAZING job.
It is okay to be depressed sometimes. But don't stay there. Talk about it with someone you trust who understands, let yourself grieve.
I admire your courage. Battling MS is no small feat.
