Maternity leave....???

So I’m about 32 weeks pregnant & still haven’t told my job that I’m pregnant & wanting to take maternity leave when it’s time....only problem is, how exactly does this work? Do I just call & say “hey, I’m pregnant!” as if they would actually care lol. But I’m not sure how my job does the maternity leave or when they’ll allow me take it & all that stuff...I don’t wanna sound stupid, but I’m also needing to do it soon & I know I do. Plus I’m needing all the info on it since I don’t know anything about it & if there’s papers to sign they’ll have to mail them to me.. How exactly did you tell your job you was pregnant & interested in maternity leave when it comes time without sounding really awkward about it?? I’m super nervous to tell them considering I’m a care giver for my father. I don’t go to a office or see them but once a year to renew my license. Last time I seen my manager was around the time I actually conceived. Which was about 7-8 months ago when I had no idea I was even pregnant.
