TTC, should I wait?

Apparently my drug addicted niece is pregnant (and considering abortion), my nephew and his wife are pregnant and now my other niece is pregnant, and I am trying. I honestly don’t want to be a part of that non sense so I’m thinking about just not trying for awhile. But I am 34 and never been pregnant and I’m at high risk for miscarriage so wouldn’t be announcing right away anyway. Just sad that I feel like I’m wishing on everyone else’s star and feel like just saying to hell with it all. That said I’m due for my period in a few days so it’s possible I am pregnant right now, but doubtful.

I’m just really bummed.
