JUST VENTING!
UPDATE: Not that anyone is reading, BUT if you do, we told my in laws. I agreed to tell his mom during our girls day. (I’m closer to his mom than my own) And my fiancé was supposed to tell his dad while they were out. So I told her on the way to target and showed her pics, and his mom was fine with it. She said she always yes worried because she wants us to be comfortable money wise, but she would never be mad. So his dad .. he chickened out, so after our days out, I asked if he was gonna tell him and he said no he didn’t wanna hear him lecture us. So I just dropped the bomb in his lap. And added that Josh didn’t have the balls to tell him decently. And he said “congrats I guess, I just wish my son would grow some balls.” Then did start telling us about how we needed another car (josh recently wrecked his), but that convo was quickly ended because we have a plan for a car. So. Overall. It went fine, but I just wish they were more excited. I hate seeing people’s posts where their parents cry over excitement or jump for joy. It brings me down. But my best friend is excited so. That’s a plus. Thanks for reading.
So my fiancé & I are 26 & 27. We have a 5 year old (2 months shy from 6), we have a little girl (1) who will be 2 in March, and I just found out I'm expecting again. So my fiancé is like, scared to tell his parents because he knows they're gonna "react." And I said I would like to tell them Christmas and he said "No that'll ruin Christmas cause they'll be upset." I'm like wtf?! We are grown! Our own cars. Jobs. Renting a 3bd place. So his dad is always concerned with our finances even though we NEVER ask them for a thing! It irritates the shit out of me. Mind you. My fiancé works for the government, I work at a preschool, and I'm in management there AND I have a benefit working there for 3+ years, I get FREE CHILDCARE. (Saving us $900+ a month!) Anyways. I'm just annoyed and I think my fiancé needs to grow a pair and tell his parents to shut up because they'll be the first ones to want to hold that baby when it arrives. Am I right to feel this way or is it just the hormones speaking?!
