Birth control?

I am a 17 year old Christian. Due to extremely painful period cramps and mood swings I have been prescribed birth control. However I have never felt strongly about birth control because in my eyes it is preventing a child of God from being born. Although I won’t be using it as a form of contraceptive, I’m still a little hesitant on if I should take it or not. Any thoughts?

Birth control is not an abortion pill. I suggest educating yourself on birth control before you get too religious about it.

I have endometriosis and the progesterone prevents the endometrium to grow back in my pelvic cavity causing cysts and fibroids. It’s a medication. I’m a Christian and celibate so I find it offensive that a medication that treats symptoms pain and disease is so vilified. Why reduce God by thinking He can’t work through medicine? I only take orders from Him not human opinions.

If youre not using it as a contraceptive then youre not preventing a baby, youre just using it like any other medicine, kinda like how I used to use seizure medication for migraines even though I don't get seizures. I'm not religious but I cant imagine Jesus would be against you doing something to ease your pain

My thought is to use the birth control joe for medical reasons, and since you do not believe in it as a contraceptive, stop taking it when you get married. 
That's EXACTLY what I did, and the birth control helped my cramps and bleeding A LOT. Now that I'm off birth control as of our wedding night the cramps are significantly worse

There’s a lot of ways to help with period cramps. Birth control isn’t the only thing. If you get a Pinterest then you can find a lot of hacks and advice. I go on there for everything. How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? I’m Christian also😊 I’m 18

I’m in the same exact boat. 
I️m on birth control to regulate my periods and only to regulate my periods. I️ personally don’t like the idea of blocking a potential baby from coming into the world. I think there’s grace in some situations to use it. I’m staying abstinent until marriage and I’m planning on probably staying on birth control until a couple months before my wedding but until then I’m going to take it because it helps.
